ebr 14921
Well, that is what our Android TV app is but it is designed around Android TV (at least Android 5.1). There are lots of options that should work with it. Have you tried that app?

ms78mama 1
Hi Ebr, started using the Emby for Android TV and i am impressed Some requests: - Ability to change the view into List and more options as you have for mobile devices - Ability to change the video ratio within the embedded player to ( 16:9, 4:3 etc)
ebr 14921
- Ability to change the video ratio within the embedded player to ( 16:9, 4:3 etc) You can already do this. Use the "zoom" menu during playback.
ms78mama 1
I did already but if the video originally is 4:3 cannot be stretched or fit in the screen. One example is the Anime Dragon Ball
ebr 14921
You want to distort the image?
ms78mama 1
Not in that way, but the way the external players do for example VLC. Same video in VLC can be stretched without "distorting" much.

ebr 14921
Hi. That doesn't appear to be an official Android box. I think it is running a fork of Android and does not support the Android TV APIs.
emuchris 0
Hi. That doesn't appear to be an official Android box. I think it is running a fork of Android and does not support the Android TV APIs. Well it doesnt run Android TV, its running AOSP. Isnt the whole point of this post remote control support for the Emby for Android client? Tons of people have these boxes running Android, and the mobile Emby client works on them, however it sucks using on the TV because its designed for a touchscreen. You also have companies like Xiaomi still releasing TV's and cheap boxes like the Xiaomi Box 4 SE using stock Android. These Android boxes are usually around 1/3rd the price and use the same processors as boxes currently running Android TV. These Android boxes are usually around 1/3rd the price and use the same processors as boxes currently running Android TV. You get what you pay for it seems when running your own media server and content distribution network. Emby software talks to the OS of the device and bases functionality on what OS says it can do. It has to use the APIs provided by the box and the OS running on it. If the device doesn't support Android TV APIs then Emby can't "talk" to it like any other Android TV. This is a case of looking like a duck, walking similar to a duck but being a chicken.
