Bert 49
I have been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. Any recorded TV on Emby stumbles. It doesn't matter if it's a .ts or .mkv the audio is generally ok (although it skips and is inaudible at points) but the video lags, freezes, or switches pictures like a book. I thought it was my system but it works ok on Windows Theater and LG app. The following is a clean log that I played a .ts file on xbox one (showed symptoms) and a mkv on xbox one (showed symptoms). The same files were then played on Windows Theater and they worked fine. Any ideas? The xbox one is the primary video source in a bedroom and it is very annoying. Luke 37099
Hi, as a test, what happens if you take a recorded file and run it through our new convert media feature, and then try to play that?
Bert 49
Yes, they do work fine. I guess that'll have to due for now. Kind of annoying that there's now two of the same episode to delete though and previously I was using MCE Buddy to mark chapters to skip commercials. I'll have to see if I can get it to just scan the resulting file without changing it.
Bert 49
So is this the long term answer? I've had multiple issues now with the Xbox Ones and it seems the far inferior client. Movies (full blu-ray) stumbles and freeze as well now. Live TV seems pretty stable. Did the log tell you anything? I'm wondering if it's a router issue or something as no other users seem to have these problems. For now, I kicked the quality down so it transcodes but there are drawbacks to this as well. The LG apps work great with the same files.
Luke 37099
The problem is that we are using the stock Microsoft video player so unless we're prepared to replace that with something entirely new, then it's limitations become our limitations as well. We may look at incorporating mpv in the future like we've done on other platforms.
