Luke 37345
Ok yea if you want to try it then the beta would be best. Thanks.
neik 838
Today I did some further testing: 1. I tried using http instead of https without changing the setup (3.2.70) I have and that worked pretty well. It seems to have something to do with the SSL once I used https again it went crazy again. 2. I also tried the latest beta (3.3.1.11) using a local live Linux setup and it worked well as well but it was not using SSL because I didn't have a valid certificate I could use. Is there a way to use https on a local system without a valid certificate, so I could use https instead of http? Luke, are the SSL problems fixed in the latest beta? How is the feedback or your experiences? I wouldn't mind updating my "production" setup to the latest beta if SSL isn't an issue anymore. Thanks for your support and Happy Easter! Luke 37345
Issues should be resolved but you will need a certificate.
neik 838
Ya, I have a Let's Encrypt certificate for the domain I am using in the "productive" system. Gonna give it a try and report back. ;-) €dit: What would be the best way to move from the old package (mono) to the new one? I read somewhere that I will have to uninstall and purge the old version and then simply install the new one, right? How would I remove/purge the old one exactly? Would that be apt-get remove emby-server or do I need to do something additionally? Edited March 30, 2018 by neik
neik 838
Hi Luke, I just went for the installation and that went well. The SSL problem with 3.3.x for me still persists. The moment I activate "Verfify Host SSL Certificate" on the Emby for Kodi PlugIn I am no longer able to connect to my server. I am now using the latest server beta (3.3.1.11) and the latest Emby for Kodi PlugIn (3.0.18a). Will the connection still be secured by SSL if this option is disabled? What exactly are the differences? neik 838
Hi @@Luke, do you have what could have caused the problem? Once again I had to go back to 3.2.70 to get Emby working again. Any hint is appreciated!
