Well, that's not really the case as not all clients can support things like video backdrops right now (the Shield does not).

 

Eventually, they all should.

It will come (unless we run into some technical limitation on the Roku when implementing it) but I cannot tell you exactly when.

Hello, I am just wondering if the support for the themes will come in 2019....best guess??  While a small thing, it makes a difference to the experience.  When I saw in the plugin that it supported the Roku client....I was excited and then disappointed to see it is not working. I am even using the beta version now and no difference on Roku.  If there is a client (besides Web) that can support the use of themes, it would be good to know.  Could this be supported with Amazon Fire Stick?  Thanks!  (BTW, love Emby overall....former lifetime member of Plex and recently moved over to the "light side")

Sorry, every time it gets close there are always wider-use items that come up and take priority.

 

We will get there but it isn't at the top of the list yet.
