Emby Server - Bulk/Streamline adding Tags

Is there a way to bulk edit tags for shows with empty seasons? 

 

One scenario: We keep only the latest season of most of our shows, like 60 Minutes. 60 Minutes has 50+ seasons. Right now, if we navigate to this show, it takes a really long time for all the individual seasons to show up. I've created a parental control tag called "Hide." I can add this tag to each season individually, but its a very arduous task. I have already done this once and it worked, making the one season show up quickly. After one of the recent server updates, all the tags got removed... could have also been a time when the storage for the server went offline and we had to rescan... Anyway, is there a way to do this in bulk? If I goto the metadata manager, I can only add tags for seasons with shows in them.

You could do it by adding the tag with a text editor which supports find in files and replace in files - to the season.nfo

 

perhaps notepad++ or i use Textpad

 

after the edit is done do a library scan so emby picks them all up

Bulk editing has been a requested feature for years. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it even though it's been said that it's planned.

 

If you're good with command line sed/awk/grep you can giterdone yourself.
