Actor details not loading anymore...

Sometime within the last couple of weeks, the Roku EMBY beta app has stopped displaying actor details.  I still get a list of cast and photos, but if i select an actor, the next screen sits on spinning wheel and never loads.   I can view details and other movies for an actor fine from browser or Emby Theater.  I've restarted server and Roku boxes, no luck.

I also have an issue with actors on Roku. When I'm looking at a movie, down below under the actors section usually I only get the first two listed actors to show pictures and bios, then the rest are blank. This functionality works fine in Emby Theater.

Hi.  This will be fixed in the next beta release.

Hi.  This just sounds like the on-demand loading we have for some of this information.  What happens if you come back into the same item a second time?  Have you actually compared the exact same item on both apps and gotten different results in each of them?

Yes, for instance I believe it was Tom Cruise who doesn't load on Roku but he does on Emby Theater. There were many others but he's the most famous one I can think of. I'll try to get some screenshots when I get home later.

Finally had a chance to get screen comparisons. Focusing on Robert Downey Jr as an example, it looks like Roku shows all of the main actors, with or without a picture (screenshot 1); Emby Theater only shows actors with pictures (screenshot 2); and the web app shows everyone, as it should, with pictures (screenshot 3). So three different behaviors.

 

[i just realized screenshot 2 is of Iron Man, not The Avengers, but still shows the absence of Robert Downey Jr, who was also missing from The Avengers in Theater.]

I forgot about that. I suppose theater should show them all and be consistent. it's just kind of an eyesore seeing those placeholders on the big screen.

As an update, my original issue was resolved within a couple of days.  all Roku boxes now show actor details/bio when actor image is selected...
