gcw07 347
I assume you are meaning the suggested for the movie section? If so I'll have to see if I can re-create it and track down exactly what is going wrong. There are tons of error checking that even if no results are returned it should still work fine. I see one area where it might be causing it, but without re-creating I'm not sure that is it. It should be caught before the area I'm thinking of. But we will look into it and try to figure out what is going wrong. Thanks.
Melyan 2
My roku Media Browser screen when it first boots up is doubled and to the left there are many lines, Roku said to ask you guys . I think it is the roku what do you think. But it only does it on The media browser screen, it is a Roku 1, maybe a good excuse to get a Roku 3. Also I did hook it up to the same TV and HDMI that my Roku 2 is hooked up to in another room and it does the same thing so I think I can rule out cables or TV. I have listed a link so you can see the screen shot, I only have three days of warranty left. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cho9k6e5uj5p0ld/Media%20Browser%20Screen.jpg Thank you Jeff Brown That kind of image is what I would expect from an overheating video card in a computer or faulty drivers for the video card. Has it been doing this since you first bought it? Have you tried using the RCA inputs (I think that model has them)?
speechles 1920
I assume you are meaning the suggested for the movie section? Yes, you need to have all your mediabrowser metadata stored on external hard drives, along with your tv-shows/movies. Migrate this entire thing (in my case 4 hard drives totalling 9.5TB with USB3.0) over to a new pc by redownloading mediabrowser server. After it installs and you walk thru the setup. Wait for the scans to finish. Once they do, start up the roku mediabrowser client (you need not reboot the roku to recreate this), and move the movie 6-way window selector to suggested and you should see the crash. I reproduced this twice to confirm this was the problem before I initially posted. I am using wired ethernet over a roku3. Once this crashing starts, for the novice users this will be daunting to stop. This affects only the roku client, but like I said, every flavor. In this instance, how I recreate it, the roku must be the first device to ever access the newly installed mediabrowser server or factors may come into play that affect how the server is creating those lists that fall under suggested to begin with. MrWebsmith 598
RE: speechles loop/client wont load after suggested crash a couple weeks ago I actually purchased a roku3 for my father for his bday... he loves it.. but we saw this issue also.. now in my case.. the added WLAN (he lives about 30 miles aways.. good fios connection at both ends).. made me assume that it was just that.. the lag/distance.. as we cycled through the multiselector each time we hit "suggested" it would crash out and YES like the OP wrote.. enter this "loop" behavoir/mode.. i was able to self-solve with BOTH a server restart, let all scans finish.. then HARD restart the roku3... after both would happen we would be able to enter again.. my father LOVES the access to my stuff and the roku in general, so for him he is happy to just sit on the "jump in" letters and never hit the troublesome suggested view.. i'd be able to have him do some testing if/when some new error handing comes into play for that. as i like to use the suggested view on my roku and i think, even if slow to build, he should in theory be able to use it as well.. next time i go over there ill try to repro with specific steps and ill grab logs.. which clearly are more helpful than my "yea me too" -mws Edited May 13, 2014 by MrWebsmith

I think I know what causes it. It is basically that suggested movies doesn't return any categories if you haven't watched any movies. So it is parsing the data correctly, but when there is no category it fails and crashes. I'll push out a fix (and hopefully that is the cause) to the beta channel tonight.
gcw07 347
OK, I pushed out a fix to the beta channel. Those that ran across this problem if you can see if it is still causing it or if it is now working and let me know. If it is fixed, I'll push it to live. Thanks.

Passing along my thanks and my fathers who was grinning like a fool as he browsed all my stuff from his chair. Buffering was very brief even on nicer hd mkv films..quality was excellent all around and.. And this is the best praise i can give you.. I didnt have to show them anything about the how and where of operating it.. Cheers! And thanks for the fix!

gillmacca 17
Is it possible to have poster view for movies on the home page?
gcw07 347
Is it possible to have poster view for movies on the home page? Not really. The main problem is, is that posters doesn't allow you to put text below the image itself. So you can't have other items like the toggles etc. with text to describe them. MrFlibbles 21
Didn't this topic used to be "official" and pinned? Is this no longer the official Roku app for MB3?

ginjaninja 537
Suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Great to be able to browse music artists successfully now without "problem loading artists" Suggestions for music interface development 1. Details page for Music show %track% %title% %artist% - useful for Various Artist Albums 1b. %artist% as hyper link or * 'options' button to navigate to artist. (useful when on various artists album but want to navigate to a specific artists view from a specific track) 2. Default grouping of Albums under an artist to group the albums where artists is albumartist, sorted by year of album (or year of 1st track), 2nd grouping of albums where artist appears as artist (not album artist) 3. (Scrolling) view to see full artist and album bio. 4. Navigate/Browse music whilst playing. thanks for considering
