Luke 37064
Hi, try installing the windows store mpeg2 extension from microsoft: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-366-install-the-windows-store-mpeg2-extension/
paulsalter 84
Thanks for the reply I do have that installed, just tried uninstalling it and installing again but it makes no difference The mpeg2 extension works for the built in Movies & TV app and allows the content to play, but Emby just transcodes it On the xbox i am not sure if this is installable, i think support for mpeg2 is built it (cant find this item in the store)
Luke 37064
Ok, it's the mp2 audio. It's not on our direct play list. We'll look at this for the next update of the app. thanks.
paulsalter 84
Just noticed the app has been updated The above file now plays perfectly on my desktop through the app The xbox one is still transcoding it though, i did notice it is on a lower version number than the desktop app, so perhaps the change hasnt hit it yet, if this should be playing it also i can provide new logs Thanks

paulsalter 84
Hi Should the xbox one have received the update to stop the transcoding? Just tested today and i am still having the original problem, episode in first post is transcoding For a test i modified the xbox one dlna profile (so i have a copy of the original) and added MP2 as a direct playable format, using the play to feature i get no transcoding, but with theater i do I can get new logs if required, but the problem is the same as in the first post Theater on my PC works fine now and does not transcode, this issue only affects the xbox one Thanks

Luke 37064
On Xbox we are blocked by an MS defect, once that is resolved we will be able to direct play this again. Thanks.
