djhifi 55
So, pretty simple problem but I've been scratching my head. I delayed the update to the fast server sync plugin for a week because I have been undergoing maintenance on my home NASes. I have 3 machines 2 jarvis 1 krypton, and all of them started (today) displaying this: "Failed to retrieve latest updates using fast sync. Using full sync" And then it jumped to a manual sync. On one of the KODIS, I even lost the entire database!! (need to do a reset on it tomorrow ffs!) I thought "Ok, I really need to update the plugin" Which I did. The message now continues on my Krypton machine and Ive been restarting the b*tch when it reaches manual sync because im afraid I will lose the entire DB scan (i have a really big collection...imagine the PITA of going thru it again). Am I missing something here, is this just happening to me? Edited March 13, 2017 by djhifi
jurmb84 281
just posted a response to the other thread that you asked this question in: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/23971-fast-startup-sync-server-plugin/&do=findComment&comment=430702 1. Nothing has changed in the communication realm with this update... just the database backend... 2. Without logs I don't know what you are missing... Please restart emby... then start kodi on the machine you are having an issue with... then send both the server log and the kodi log so we can help you track down the problem... Cheers **EDIT** I read through you post again and noticed that you said you lost the entire DB... My setup is a PC with Emby and the media on a NAS... That same thing has happened to me a few times but not because of Emby or Kodi... Once it was due to a networking issue... the other was due to the share password to the NAS being changed and I forgot to change it on the PC... If you can, try to access Emby from the computer that is failing through the web client and see if you can reach it... djhifi 55
@jurm84 I really dont know what happened. Now I can only import TV Shows into KODI. 0 Movies. Regarding the logs, I can acess the logs in the server dashboard but I cant seem to locate the actual folder (im using a synology). Im trying to find a way to grab the actual .txt log file. Do you have any clues?
jurmb84 281
@@djhifi If you ssh in you can search for it by running the following command find / -name server*.txt That will take a while but find where those are located... I think there was a post in the fast user sync thread where someone with a synology posted the full location... jurmb84 281
Well... The interesting part about the error is that it is looking for items from the server... Neither of the errors are trying to reach the fast update plugin... Those are actually trying to reach items lists for a particular user... Is it possible for you to look at the log from the computer that is failing and then click on the link and see if it actually hits the server and pulls back JSON data? kcprophecy 3
Hey, hope I am not hijacking this at all but op showed similar problem in his initial post so thought I'd share that I am having that problem on 2 different kodi boxes. From just looking at the logs I am getting it would seem that the server plugin is maybe providing an invalid link so the fast incremental update fails and it resorts to the full sync. I tried going to link in browser but it just spins without doing anything. 08:19:34.665 T:14020 NOTICE: EMBY.downloadutils -> ERROR:: Server unreachable at: http://172.31.255.14:8096/emby/Emby.Kodi.SyncQueue/26e7c7d38f2e4de3bfa6a5018c2648fa/GetItems?format=json 08:19:34.665 T:14020 NOTICE: EMBY.librarysync -> ERROR:: HTTPConnectionPool(host='172.31.255.14', port=8096): Max retries exceeded with url: /emby/Emby.Kodi.SyncQueue/26e7c7d38f2e4de3bfa6a5018c2648fa/GetItems?format=json&LastUpdateDT=2017-03-19T02%3A10%3A18Z (Caused by ReadTimeoutError("HTTPConnectionPool(host='172.31.255.14', port=8096): Read timed out. jurmb84 281
I have a quick question... Does your server have a static IP or a dynamic? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
jurmb84 281
Secondly... If you go into the properties of the network card, is powesaving turned on? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
kcprophecy 3
It's a static IP, no power saving features turned on either. Never had a problem until recently. Unfortunately I don't know exactly when it occurred though. The one client comes on during weekend only mostly and I want to say it probably started a couple weeks ago. jurmb84 281
It would be helpful if next time you have this problem, could you please post both your full Kodi log and your full emby log for us to look at and see what is going on...
