speechles 1920
I see this when in movies, and tv show level views. When on an episode detail screen the cast (& crew) row is missing. Only see rows for next episodes and scenes.

speechles 1920
On an Episode detail screen what is shown is "Guest Stars" and some episodes don't have that data. Indeed. The episode in question has them. These show in blue neon just fine. Main cast & crew (series), and cast & crew (episode). In this new app, for episodes there is no cast shown. Also, it isnt just "guest stars". There are people in this list not on the camera, such as: directors, writers, and crew. These people were responsible for that episodes creation. Is this why it says, cast and has removed the crew portion? I dont understand why that row is called just "Cast"? Is the new app removing people (the crew) that aren't a "guest star"? Suppose I want all the x-files episodes directed by David Duchovny, impossible to see in this app? Why would you strip information and not show it? I don't understand this decision..... If the idea is to provide even less information than the web client (shown above), well, why even have guest stars? in fact, why not just remove the entire ability to navigate the cast? </sarcasm> The actual kick-in-the-balls here is the episode has a little "Directed By" in the top corner, under this is a directors name that you cant do anything with. So it is okay to know the director of the episodes on this screen, you just cannot search for them from this screen using the normal cast&crew row. How intuitive. </sarcasm> The point is, don't play around with cast & crew, there were no complaints at all that crew were also there. So why reduce this to just "Guest Stars"? Who had the grand idea that less was better? Who can I punch in the face? LOL Edit: On checking other apps, such as androidTV, it seems all these apps are purposely crippled. All of them for some reason STRIP the data given for Cast AND CREW and reduce it to just "actors and actresses". Yet once again, clearly a "Directed By" is there on the movie detail view. Why have this if there is no way to actually search by these terms? Why would you take a good thing, and dumb it down? What other things are eventually going to be crippled? The odd part is emby says its "Your Media, Your way!". What I see is it is more "Your Media, Our way!". You need to update all the TV apps again and add back what you mistakenly have taken away. Thanks. Edited January 18, 2017 by speechles
