Rumbaar 13
Hi, EMBY Theater doesn't appear to display the additional parts of a multi-part movie or automatically move to the next part of the movie (not sure if this is even functionality, know WMC version used too). So have no way of watching a whole multi part movie. Can this be looked into? Via the Mobile App, and Browser view you get the additional parts as additional items, just not in Theater. Cheers,
Luke 37132
Yea this just hasn't been implemented yet, thanks.
Rumbaar 13
Yea this just hasn't been implemented yet, thanks. Ah, that's unfortunate. So currently no workaround? Does EMBY have automatically playback of multiple part movies functionality? I'm sure it used to be in the WMC version? Or was that part of that infrastructure? SO the display part wasn't needed? Deathsquirrel 741
Ah, that's unfortunate. So currently no workaround? The workaround would be a few seconds in MKVMerge so you no longer have multipart movies I suppose
Luke 37132
Yes unfortunately no workaround until we get it done.
funwithmedia 352
Once you do implement multi-part movies (ie, file stacking), what would be the proper way to name files for both filestacking and multiple versions (eg, MovieName-part1 - 720p.mkv?). The Movie Naming guide ( https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Movie%20naming ) doesn't give an example of how one would do both. Also, once Emby Server supports filestacking, I assume it will pick up, and migrate to including, any existing multi-part movies (assuming we've named them properly). Luke 37132
Emby Server already supports file stacking, it's the apps that need to handle it.

ShoutingMan 95
Well, this thread explains why Theater won't play the second half of Lord of the Rings!
FrostByte 5053
Well, this thread explains why Theater won't play the second half of Lord of the Rings! Unless you do what DS suggested in post #4 Really quite easy and everything is displayed and played correctly in ALL apps
ShoutingMan 95
Unless you do what DS suggested in post #4 Really quite easy and everything is displayed and played correctly in ALL appsyep, I'll be doing that now. It just adds another three hours of effort, when I thought I was done.
Deathsquirrel 741
yep, I'll be doing that now. It just adds another three hours of effort, when I thought I was done. As long as the halves match it'll take about thirty minutes to combine them, about as long as a file copy of both parts. Of course if it were my setup you'd need to add in copying across the network twice
ShoutingMan 95
As long as the halves match it'll take about thirty minutes to combine them, about as long as a file copy of both parts. Of course if it were my setup you'd need to add in copying across the network twice Copy 60GB from RAID to scratch drive, merge, copy back. That's about an hour, hopefully. Do twice more. Three hours. Then another hour getting Server updated and reviewing everything is correct in ET, rebuilding the Collection. So, an extra three or four hours. What's perplexing is documentation explaining how to use a feature that isn't supported. I'd prefer the docs state that features aren't supported and to not bother using them. Riggs 300
For MKV containers, merge is an option for those that want one single file in movies with two parts like Lord Of The Rings. You can use MKVToolniX tool.
