GypsyPink 0
Hello, I've installed emby server (both stable and beta) on two different windows 10 pc's but i have no success on connection via tv.emby.com, MediaBrowser, android app etc. All gives "Connection Failure" while adding the server in other pcs and devices. I can reach the server dashboard etc by entering the ip and the port from browsers within other PCs and even from PS4. So it means server is running and there is no firewall problem. I've installed Mac server version on a mac pc and its working without any issues in the same network. Here is the log from windows pc, you can see the error at time 2016-12-04 14:20:55.3967, 2016-12-04 14:20:55.3867 Info HttpServer: HTTP GET http://192.168.1.115:8096/mediabrowser/system/info/public?format=json. GypsyPink 0
So windows and mac servers can be accessed via the local network but you are unable to access your server via the WAN, correct? Please try the steps listed in our Connection Troubleshooter. Actually no, it is a LAN issue, i can access the windows 10 server (i tried two of them) when i type the ip and port in the URL and also i can access it via app.emby.media with the devices in the same network. I cannot access them using tv.emby.media or Emby Theater or Emby Android app etc. again within the same network. Already followed the connection troubleshooter, they are not relevant with the issue. Tried installing the server in mac and it works there is no issue in any of the clients.

Luke 37065
Hi, what address are you entering into tv.emby.media? Is this the same address as app.emby.media? Thanks !
GypsyPink 0
Server dropping out is nothing new I have experiencing the same thing I thought it was only related to HTTPS but it seems I may be wrong. Seems to be an issue whether is HTTPS or HTTP. I have been going through this issue my self and it has been pissing me off. I have already reported this to luke over the past 2 months with no fix. Seems like this issues keeps showing its ugly head. Keep complaining to luke so a fix will come of it. Lastly as somewhat already stated GypsyPink you are not alone with this issue and the bug clearly does exist. its not dropping, its working, connection problem is with the clients i mentioned, they never connect. But i can connect with IP:PORT in url without any problems. Error says it cannot find a file
Luke 37065
@@GypsyPink thank you for the response and your patience. It is not related to what was just mentioned above.

Luke 37065
Ok, so try tv.emby.media or app.emby.media. For the ip address, use the address from the url that you normally use. Does that make sense?

Luke 37065
I did, just wanted to make sure. It's possible this might just be related to the beta server. I will take a look. Thanks.

Thanks. i just reinstalled the stable release, i've attached the log this time the error is different from beta. Luke 37065
Can you tell us exactly what values you enter into the server field when trying to connect?
Luke 37065
Additionally I'm going to add more logging into the next beta update so that we can try and track down why those urls are coming up 404. Thanks.
GypsyPink 0
Can you tell us exactly what values you enter into the server field when trying to connect? in host: 192.168.1.115 in port: 8096 the same host:port i'm typing in chrome and getting no error. But with the clients i'm getting the error. I've did some search and found below post, does it search for /emby/system/info/public address with Info or info? if its Info then it makes sense because in Turkish I is not the capital version of i. We have İ -> i and I ->ı I think its "Info" thats why when i also change computer regional settings to English(US). Windows somehow converts the capital letters to small ones and thats why this error is popping up. I think you need to do some change to make it work also in Turkish regional settings. Making use of small characters should make it work or maybe there can be some other solutions. If you do some change i can test it for you. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/34391-android-app-cant-connect-to-server/?p=368005

GypsyPink 0
i guess emby server is written in c# for windows, here are some web pages about the problem and possible solutions http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8983622/canonicalize-url-to-lowercase-without-breaking-file-system-or-culture http://haacked.com/archive/2012/07/05/turkish-i-problem-and-why-you-should-care.aspx/ https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd465121(v=vs.110).aspx

buraksahin 0
Hello, Sorry to write on old topic, but i was having similar problem connecting to Emby Server on my Turkish Windows 10 Machine with Kodi 17 on my Windows 10 tablet. As mentioned its an 'i', 'I' problem here, because we have both 'i','ı' and 'İ','I' and thats what confuse the addons. Brand new Kodi and Emby installion on client tries to find local server on network, finds its ip and port number but while verifying the adress :8096/emby/system/info/public gives error on Server Side (404). But when you go :8096/emby/system/Info/public it works.. My solution is editing Emby Kodi Addons .py file (in addons\plugin.video.emby\resources\lib\connect\connectionmanager.py) _tryConnect function's url 'i' to 'I' and tadaaaa.. Anyway i hope this helps with your next releases
