altramarine 21
Hello, CentOS7.2 Stable emby repo. I managed to ruin my emby-server install and so I am trying it have it reinstalled. After emby reinstall, the initial guide is asking for ffmpeg. Since it's been a while, I don't recall installing ffmpeg separately. Wasn't it part of packages that came with emby? I am may be totally wrong. That said, if I do need to install ffmpeg separately, can you recommend a repo that maintains ffmpeg? Thank you,
Luke 37099
Hi, doesn't the page on the startup wizard give you a suggestion on where to get it from?
altramarine 21
It did, I saw those being static builds that do not get updated. am I wrong there? Sorry Luke, I am still a bit fresh on the linux end of things. Thanks!
Solution Luke 37099 Posted December 2, 2016 Solution Share Posted December 2, 2016 Well every once in a while you may choose to update it again. If emby server needs you to update it, it will let you know.
altramarine 21
Great, thanks for explaining. Is /var/lib/emby-server/ffmpeg a good spot to place the files?
Luke 37099
Any place of your choosing will be fine.
