irishranger 1
Hi been on the forums for while now searched the many topics on remote access I still can't get my issue fixed. I am bit new to all this I followed the guide https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Connectivity Still not working I forwarded my ports 8096 and 8920 I turned off (for testing) windows firewall. I added rules into firewall There zero problem accessing via home network but remotely it's lets me login see the server but will not let me login. I have tried turning off port mapping and reporting https as external still didn't work (they are currently switched on) I checked online to make sure ports are forwarded I have read a lot of topics about remote access and still having issues... bit annoyed as emby was kind of sold as click and play which is far from the case. Enjoying it at home but I travel a lot and finding this remote access problems most annoying Edited October 30, 2016 by Happy2Play Removed external ip
denz 426
I may be seeing this wrong but your internal ip address ends in .152 but in your ip forward i dont see 152. Did you register with emby connect and add that username to your user. Edited October 30, 2016 by denz
pir8radio 1292
yea as denz says, on your VM router, emby and emby2 should look like below, assuming you are not using Upnp emby 8096 TCP 192.168.0.152 emby2 8920 TCP 192.168.0.152 Edited October 30, 2016 by pir8radio
Solution Luke 37065 Posted October 30, 2016 Solution Share Posted October 30, 2016 I would turn windows firewall back on because disabling it can often cause these kinds of failures, believe it or not. Then check windows firewall for any rules blocking mediabrowser.serverapplication.exe. if you see any, remove them. after that, check the external address that is displayed on the front page of the emby server dashboard. is this address correct? What Emby app are you trying to connect from?
Happy2Play 8282
Not sure I understand the issue since your external ip is in your screenshot and you are reporting external access as https I can see your log on screen "CastleOS". https://ipaddress:8920
