shorty1483 452
Just stumbled across this site http://api.myapifilms.com/index.do Without donations you are limited to maximum 2000 requests per day and maximum 15 requests every 10 seconds. The site supports xml and json. Creating a token similar to fanart.tv offers you a lot of cool stuff. Best things are IMDB Top250 query, so it could be implemented into Emby and other queries like exactly what kind of awards a movie got and who. This would a offer a lot of things many people requested in the past (from what I've read in the last year), like Oscar Winner Tags, Golden Globes, Series Emmys, IMDB Top250 etc... Example IMDB Movie Top250 query in json format: http://www.myapifilms.com/imdb/top?start=1&end=250&token=<TOKEN>&format=json&data=0. I don't know if this is the right place or useful in case of the Emby queries format but I thought I mention @@Luke Could also be interesting for specially @@im85288 and perhaps @@xnappo because of IMDB Top250 in Kodi. Luke 37063
I looked into it. Some of the data is nice but others just wrap around other services that already exist. Either way, we would need significantly higher usage than what they are allowing.
shorty1483 452
Thanks for looking into it! I know that the data would be doubled and sometimes tripled . The only section really interesting is the imdb one imo because the others are already implemented into Emby. Thought just to mention because of data brackets like to toplist section or use Awards as tags. Kinda cool because the IMDb Toplist is an own request section. Truely you would need more than 2000 requests a day? This amount would apply to every user for itself with a token. Wouldn't that be enough for e.g. a 600 movie collection when you not resccan whole data 5 times a day (what would be ridiculous imo)? And e.g. for the IMDB Top250 it would be just one request for the user per day. Edited September 28, 2016 by shorty1483

shorty1483 452
I contacted the owner of the site regarding the questions from the thread to get his point of view in a organizational and technical manner. I think everything is said with this. Hello! I'm a User of Emby Server ( https://emby.media/ ) and found your great site. I proposed to include your API for e.g. the Top250 requests as metadata source since on IMDB directly it isn't that easy as you know. Emby Server until now uses TMDB and THETVDB API natively. After my proposal, the discussion began with the question of how much requests can being handled if e.g. 120.000 Emby users registrate/generate a token and would use your api on different times a day to get e.g. the Top250 list. Last thing I want is that your great site gets overflood with requests or that somehow IMDB shuts the access down. Could you give me a little bit of clarification if my proposal makes sense or if it's doable from your side? I am not affiliated with the Emby Server Dev Team, so I this is just a User question. Until now the Emby dev team is not really willing to implement because of the request load question. This is the thread: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/39631-integration-myapifilms-usefulbeneficial/ Thanks! Kind Regards Hi shorty1483, The first of all, thanks you for to propose my site. About request limit, I think that if the API is only used for get Imdb Top 250 perhaps with 8000 requests per day is enough, as you say in the post, this call It is not a recurring use. With this option, the Emby team should implement a control to avoid make more than 2000 or 8000 requests per day to avoid the ban of the token. On the other hand, there is an alternative, and it is use a MAF Server (http://api.myapifilms.com/donations.do). With this option will have a full access to all API's, although perhaps not all will be used, but request limit is higher. As they are a paid service I suppose they can pay it. For any question don't doubt to contact me. Thanks and regards.
