Tolotos 61
Hi, I would like suggest the following new feature(s): 1) Statistics of transcode values (complete and per device) 2) Ability to set multible transcode values for pre transcoding all content with lowest priority 3) Ability to trigger transcoding of a movie/TV-show with higher priority to get it faster 4) Auto choose the best fit pre-transcoded version With this you can use low powered servers handle high quality movies for high quality players and use the same "original" file to view it on lower powered systems or over low speed networks. Kind regards, Tolotos

Tolotos 61
I mean choose the best fit pre-transcoded. Is this realy available? Edited September 10, 2016 by Tolotos
Luke 37253
Yes with multi-resolution movies: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Movie%20naming Or by creating alternate resolutions using the folder sync plugin.
Tolotos 61
I tried it on my external hosted test Ubuntu test install: 1) Install folder sync plugin 2) Configure the folder sync plugin to point to the local hard drive out of the library path 3) create sync jobs for [baseline|General]/[Low|Mid|High] on the Movies library 4) wait some hours ;-) 5) start a movie on a small device ==> no transcoding started and the movie looks nice ;-)) With this first test only the usage statistics is currently open for me. Only one "suggar-solution": - Nicer/more intuitive setup: configure only the transcode settings and the files are stored at the movie location in a subfolder "transcodings"
Luke 37253
Yup that's a good idea. Thanks for trying it.
barat 27
I'll dig-up old post. I would love to see some kind of stats about transcoding. Would be nice to see how many times server was transcoding last X months, or reason (audio, video, subtitles), list of files transcoded the most or devices which often demand transcoding. I know I can tail -f and grep|pipe it out somewhere and analyze, but having this built-in would be nice. In some - unspecified yet - time I'll want to replace my DS916+ with something new, and such stats will help mi take decision what to buy a lot. ebr 14959
Sounds like a possible addition to the playback reporting plug-in @TeamB
