regid 6
Hello, I purchased the lifetime option and was glad to get Coverart. I thought that it would be able to display coverart based how my files were named. For example: Filename.HDVD.1080p.mkv would receive HDVD coverart Filename.Bluray.1080p.mkv would receive BD coverart Filename.SD.avi would receive SD coverart and etc... All I can do is either get all the HD content to receive the Bluray Coverart and files with "DVD" in them to show up with DVD CoverArt.. I can change things so they are either HD or SD or have them have container names. Am I trying to do something that CoverArt does not actually do? If it can be done then I must be missing something obvious. Thank you
Luke 37099
Hi, right now this would require an override in the metadata editor using the "treat image as" field. To access this, click the 3-dot menu -> edit. it is a text field and you can enter values like dvd, bluray, hddvd, etc. @@ebr can go over the possible values.
regid 6
I was hoping it would not be something as manual as that. I will do so for lesser content like HDDVD. I hope it becomes a consideration for future Coverart upgrades. Thank You! Hi, right now this would require an override in the metadata editor using the "treat image as" field. Happy2Play 8296
Naming convention use to work, but it appears to not work anymore. That is how I would name my test files. Edited September 6, 2016 by Happy2Play
Spyderturbo007 19
Naming convention use to work, but it appears to not work anymore. That is how I would name my test files. Would this by chance be on the list of things to bring back? For some reason it seems to recognize my Bluray titles (at least they show up in Kodi with a Bluray cover), but it won't recognize my HD-DVD titles. Do they have anything in "Treat Image As" field in metadata? And it would appear as the wiki says those extension apply to ISO files, and only work for treatment of ISO files. HD-DVD recognition was removed from the server quite a while ago but, if you use the "Treat image as" field on the item, I believe CoverArt will still recognize them. Happy2Play 8296
Yes "Treat image as" HD-DVD still works.
schmitty 61
It would be much easier if it just recognised tags in the file name. Eg. HDDVD, BluRay, DVD, SDTV, HDTV... WEBDL-480p/576p as SD, WEBDL-720p/1080p as HD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm only having .strm files in my Emby database, so Emby has no information about the files except the "1080p" or "480p" in the file name.
Luke 37099
That traditionally has not been the typical use case so if I had to guess, it will probably not work perfectly out of the box. I would try it and let us know. thanks.

It deals with images that are attached to items. Those items may or may not even have file names so we don't want to start trying to interpret anything at that level in this plug-in. The server can potentially (and does in some instances) create properties for the item based on things like this and then CoverArt can then make decisions based on that.

Hmm ok so there is no way to get bluray/DVD covers for strm files at the moment, bummer.

turnkit 0
I have a folder with only HD DVD's and set the following rules for that folder. Unfortunately all the covers still show with the blue frame. Am I missing something? I thought this was a nice easy way to override. It really would be nice if there was more flexability in coverart, such as allowing a checkbox to say, "Auto Identify Type by Filename" and "Auto Identify by Parent Folders" and "Auto Identify by Container" -- and those options could be checked off and also placed in whatever preference order the user wants to per folder.Having the ability to quickly control large numbers of media makes the whole app very appealing. (Having to manually tinker with each file does not.)Thanks for considering. ebr 14925
When you created the CoverArt profile, are you positive you used the exact same path that the server sees for this folder?
