breezytm 124
Dev, Would it be ideal to have a server/client side feature to hide and unhide libraries. Scenario: Let's say I create an Adult Library. It's Sunday afternoon and I have some friends over. I login to the emby app in the living room TV to play a movie and boom, all my adult movies are out there in the screen for everyone to see. Now I am embarrassed. If there was an option hide the library and its content from latest movie that would've never happened. Server side setting: Hide Library (set a each library level) Client side setting: Show Hidden Libraries (or Show All Libraries) /Hide Hidden Libraries Lol truth of the matter is I have a lot of libraries made of tutorial videos and they are all over my screen. Sometimes I would dump like 100 videos in a folder. After they are scanned into libraries I don't see any of the latest movies or tv shows anymore.
Luke 37113
it might be useful but there is an immediate solution which is to temporarily use user access to hide certain things from certain users
breezytm 124
it might be useful but there is an immediate solution which is to temporarily use user access to hide certain things from certain user What I am asking for is not permission related. The user would have access to the library but the user can choose to hide it from view. Specially if it is not a library that he/she uses often. Luke 37113
understood, was just trying to offer some other way you could accomplish the same goal today
speechles 1920
Your pornographic videos and pictures should never be shown on latest. In mine above, zoo is my porn. It appears innocuous, and always at the bottom. It has a folder.jpg of zoo animals. You can still see latest for these items in that library, enter it, sort by date added. This is the best way to avoid immediate embarassment from the title "big butts volume 7" appearing in latest when company is over. You could also create a seperate account for yourself, naughty. The only library this account has access to is the porn. Then your main account remove the porn libraries. Problem solved. When you need some "me time" use the naughty login. When company is over use your normal login. Edited August 31, 2016 by speechles
Spaceboy 2494
You could also create a seperate account for yourself, naughty. The only library this account has access to is the porn. This, with media on a different share hidden from Windows.
Liquidfire88 120
You could also create a seperate account for yourself, naughty. The only library this account has access to is the porn. Then your main account remove the porn libraries. Problem solved. When you need some "me time" use the naughty login. When company is over use your normal login. This is currently what i do. Made an account, under the Users on the very bottom; just select Hide this user from login screens. That way in order to get to the account it requires a manual login and doesnt even show up on the main screen. noone but you will even know its there.
