Sireone 6
I'm trying to get a good debug log going so I can see what's up with my Library Scanning issues. Is it possible to temporarily disable the HttpServer from the server log so I'm not flooded with entries like below? I navigate around the web UI and click on several things like Scheduled Scan, then when I look at the log, I see thousand of lines like these, as well as from my mobile clients connecting. I just need to disable it for little while so I can figure what's going on. 2016-08-27 09:23:00.5266 Info HttpServer: HTTP GET http://192.168.0.17:8096/emby/ScheduledTasks?IsEnabled=true. Luke 37112
Hi, no, we need this information in order to be able to help users. There is currently no setting to disable it. Thanks.
hshah 19
@@Luke, this is what I was referring to in: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/71971-problems-playing-m3u-spinning-on-all-devices/&do=findComment&comment=729490 Users ought to be able to disable this, and have the option to enable it if/when they actually need support. Thinking about it, isn't this is exactly what the "Enable debug logging" option is for? With that option disabled, Emby should only be logging what the users may find helpful rather than items for your support purposes
Luke 37112
In most cases a log without debug logging is sufficient for us to troubleshoot. In some rare cases, we may ask you to turn on debug logging. The defaults are tuned towards what is best most of the time. In my experience users tend to get aggravated if they go through the trouble of providing a log, only to have us say wait, please turn on debug logging and then do it again. I suppose you have a point there, but at the same time it could be argued that a technically adept person may prefer logging that focuses on warnings/errors. I don't know what proportion of Emby's user base is technical vs non-technical, so could I suggest a feature that allows for the user to actually decide on the level of logging. With minimal logging, you could just have a message which informs the user that there may be limited support without the full logs
