techywarrior 688
I have created a simple Chrome App to make it a little easier to access the Emby client. You can install it at the Chrome Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/emby/pejchbgakmkcikonfkahmnapmhkllmnp Current Version: 2.0 Changelog removed jQuery (no need anymore) improved fullscreen support

chef 3748
This is sweet! I was using the --app="local host:8096" Commandline before with chrome, now I will use this instead. Thank you! Edited August 10, 2016 by chef
RanmaCanada 352
I know this is probably a dumb question, but does it require premiere?

rechner123 12
Is the App able to play HD-Sound e.g. TrueHD?
Luke 37132
Is the App able to play HD-Sound e.g. TrueHD? Without transcoding, no. Google Chrome does not offer TrueHD support. But with transcoding, yes.
vaise 307
How do I re-launch this - rather than clicking the link at the top of this thread and saying launch app ? Thanks.
Luke 37132
When you install the Chrome app it will be added to your Chrome home screen.
vaise 307
Sorry in advance for my ignorance here - where is the chrome home screen ? I just run google chrome and get the browser - where is the home screen ? I thought it was the little nine squares on the top right - but the new app does not show there - only google stuff does. vaise 307
Figured it out - I have removed the 'show apps shortcut' in chrome settings as I did not need it - to free up more space for my links to all fit nicely (right click, show apps shortcut). I added that back and I can see it now. Thanks.

griam01 8
I have a white/grey bar on the right hand side of the screen when using this app. I did confirm I am using the latest 2.0 version. Anyone else notice this? Looks like the scroll bar. Also anyway to exit full screen with just the mouse?
techywarrior 688
I tried to hide the scroll bar but it won't let me remove it completely. It should be colored the same as the page so it's not really noticeable though. I don't believe there is a way to exit full screen without a keyboard (you need to press ESC). My options are to display the title bar at the top of the screen with minimize, maximize, and close or go full screen. The problem is that if I enable the title bar then it will never go away, even when you try and watch a movie in "full screen".

Anyone else notice this? Looks like the scroll bar. Also anyway to exit full screen with just the mouse? Only time I see the scroll bar and white top header is when I exit full screen. The app opens in full screen then if I hit "esc" it become windowed.
jonathanm 1
I'm having problems connecting to my server with this app over WAN. It works fine inside the network, on the standard ports, either https or http. I have my server reverse proxied through apache ssl with my purchased security certificates on the normal https port. Chrome (or any browser) connects to the web client just fine at that url, but the app can't find the server. I tried to specify port 443 or leave it blank, neither work. Is it something I'm doing wrong?

jonathanm 1
When you use the browser does it give you a security warning that you have to approve? No, I have my own domain (not ddns) with signed ssl certificates. Those certificates are served by apache with only 443 exposed to WAN. I use reverse proxy directives to point domain.com/emby at my internal emby at 192.168.1.2/emby So, when I point my browser to https://domain.com/emby it works just fine, no security warning, green padlock, etc. When I point the chrome app to that same url, it fails.
