arrowing down to the sign in button

Sorry if this has been covered. I didn't see any discussion in my search results.

I find it kind of annoying that after I enter a password I have to arrow down twice to get to the sign in button. Is there any way of avoiding this or can this get fixed? Maybe some people need that on screen keyboard that pops up when you press select/ok but how about those of us who are content to use PINs? Would this warrant a setting perhaps?

It seems very odd to me that problem continues to persist after all this time. It is an immediate "first impression" indicator that ET is still very much a work in progress and problematic from a wife approval factor standpoint. I would think it's an easy thing to fix.

Still have to arrow down to log in? I'm really surprised. IMO requiring users to do this is obnoxious, particularly when it would seemingly be so easy to fix. :(

Is it "hard"? No, but it's an annoying usability issue. I don't think it's normal when entering a password to have to directly use a button to complete login. Using a keyboard it's customary for enter to log you in. Using a remote (as I'm doing, it's customary to push the ok/select button on the remote. It's "weird" to get a virtual keyboard when you try to do this in emby, and not particularly wife/kid friendly. At the very least, an option for this would be nice.

Still no movement on this I see. It sure would be nice if there was a way to make ok/select log the user in to save the extra couple of button presses. Perhaps an option to disable the virtual keyboard which would then change the action associated with ok/select? Or maybe an option to require a long press of the ok/select button to bring up the keyboard and a short press would log the user in?

I can deal with it as is but I'm thinking of the wife approval factor as I once again consider the switch from WMC to Theater.

Just tried it and while you're right, it's pretty much unusable with a remote (right off the bat, arrow keys don't really seem to work). It would be nice if there was a solution for TV's.

You need to find the correct profile for the remote commands. With my HTPC and Harmony Remote, I use the "Microsoft Windows Media Center SE" profile. Arrow keys work.

Works just fine in TV mode, but not in desktop mode. So it doesn't seem to be my remote configuration. It's also a non-ideal workaround as I see right off the bat there are other differences like small text.

Ah I see. Yes you are right. I just don't think about this very much since I only run Emby Theatre on the HTPC.
