peergynt 1
I've noticed that when upgrading a media item to a better, higher quality version, metadeta and images are reset. I'm mainly concerned with the images. If a poster is chosen, it would be nice not to have to manually reset them to a preferred poster. I suppose this is caused by the newer version having a different filename, particularly the resolution in the filename is different. I haven't noticed any options relating to this in the emby server settings.
ebr 14939
Yes, you could avoid this by keeping the file name the same. Not sure how else it could be done as we need to be able to uniquely identify items.
Deathsquirrel 741
If you store your images and metadata in the movie folder this doesn't happen FYI. When I replace a DVD rip with a blu ray rip I have it rebuild the metadata file by deleting the existing .NFO, but it still uses all the existing images. As far as I know it will always use the existing images if they are in the movie folders and named correctly.
ebr 14939
Yes, if they are in individual folders, that is true as you can use the generic names. I assume he had movies in a single folder or not with the metadata stored with them.
