WylieKylie 0 Posted June 17, 2016 Share Posted June 17, 2016 I've been trying to connect my Roku to my Emby Server, and Windows Firewall is somehow blocking it from connecting. On my dashboard the Local Address is: http://192.168.1.114:8096 I've been through the connectivity wiki and opened port 8096 in Windows Firewall. Still no connection through any browser other than the computer hosting the server (I've tried on the Roku, an Android phone, and an iPad). In desperation I turned off Windows Firewall long enough to check the connection (yes I understand the wiki advises otherwise, and I didn't leave it off for longer than a minute). With the firewall off I was instantly able to connect, so this has to be an issue with Windows Firewall. Any ideas for figuring out what is happening? WylieKylie 0 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Share Posted June 17, 2016 Luke, thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it. I don't know exactly why, but I managed to get it working. Scanned the firewall for anything blocking Emby - no luck. Deleted my port rule and re-created it (which I had done ~5 times yesterday) and then it suddenly started working.
