obrienmd 2
Platform: Win 10 x64 CPU: Intel i3 Ivy Bridge Emby Server: 3.0.5983.0 When I select "Automatically convert recordings to a streaming friendly format" in Emby, even when I have QuickSync enabled in Playback > Transcoding > Hardware Acceleration, my transcode logs who the system is using x264. Is this expected? I would think hardware acceleration would be especially useful for realtime encoding. Also, I noticed "Auto" has been changed to "None" for that Hardware Acceleration option in Playback > Transcoding. Was Auto not behaving properly and causing problems? Solution Luke 37099 Posted May 23, 2016 Solution Share Posted May 23, 2016 Hi, we haven't yet added quicksync to the recording conversions, so that would be why.

obrienmd 2
By the way, thanks for adding the auto-transcode live TV feature... Huge hastle-saver for me. Is Quicksync pretty stable these days, so when it's added I should use it on Ivy Bridge-class proc?
perx 4
Is Quicksync for recordings on the roadmap?
Luke 37099
We will see. I am not sure that I'm fully confident in it for recordings.
