The name under the dashboard is "Roku 3 (UK)"? If so that is the reason and I will get it fixed next build. Didn't realize they changed the name in other regions. Thanks.

Awesome, glad to help and thanks for being so responsive. I have only recently started using MB3 and I am really impressed. I only tried MB3 because I found the app in the Roku store and now I want to replace Plex with it. I bought the Android client and really like that too.

I will have to fix the dashboard icon for that as well.

There is a Roku Icon to the left of that text, I just didnt copy it before.

Luke that should still be fine. It is just the name, not the type. The type should still be correct and using the correct icon.

mirkster, As for the name, Inside of the Roku menu, under the About page, there should be a model number of the Roku itself. Is it "4200X" or something else? Maybe they switched the model number slightly too.

The model number is "4200X".

OK, cool. I'll see the fix I have will fix it. Hopefully so. I'll let you know when I have that fixed to see if you can test it to make sure it is working now.

I have a Roku 3.

One more quesion around this topic, I have one video with the following specs as below. It wont play with Direct Play as I assume the Roku wont pass True HD? I actually have to go to global preferences to drop the Video rate to force it to transcode. Is there any chance we will get the option in the individual media file settings to choose between Direct Play or Transcode without having to go to preferences?

Video:eng • h264 • 1920x1080 • 16:9 • 12899 kbps • Default
Audio:eng • truehd • 5.1 • 12899 kbps • Default

All my videos that have DTS audio are transcoded. When I push the down arrow while playing the file it shows copy video, convert audio.

My videos that have AC3 audio are not transcoded. I see direct play while playing. I was on the official server build but this morning I switched to beta to see if it would make any difference but its the same.

With the true hd file, it doesnt play at all. It starts retrieving and then gets stuck indefinitely when the progress bar is at 100%. However I am not sure if the issue is with the audio as it also has an AC3 track and I just found out it doesn't play either when I select that. I must say that Plex also had issues trying to direct play this file, I had to force transcoding for it to work. So in this case with this particular file it might just be a Roku issue. Thats why it would usefull to have the option to choose between direct play and transcode in the playback options. I prefer to direct play everything as most of my media is less than 20Mbs but be able to choose transcoding on the fly as required if something fails to direct play.

Hey can you also provide me the same details you did for the True HD for one of your DTS. It should be direct playing DTS sound it if it is a Roku 3.

Hmm, if you have a Roku 3 then it should be able to pass through DTS. Are you saying it is passing through AC3 audio, but not DTS? I think that is what you said, but just want to make sure.

As for a direct play directly on the details screen. I may possibly add that there. Just really wanted to get the actual player working as good as possible to avoid those situations.

So for the True HD file, it basically plays it, but no audio comes out because it isn't passing the audio through? If so, for that file can you go into the Library Explorer (it is on the MB server machine in the system tray, right click) and provide me with the data in the right panel for it. All my True HD files have above 25000 kbps so they always transcode.

Thanks.

My Roku as identified by MB3 dashboard under Active Connections.

This file transcodes the audio to PCM but the video direct plays.

I found a file with both DTS and AC3. Same issue, DTS transcodes but AC3 doesn't.

I am also having this issue. Plex bitstreams all AC3 and DTS directly to the AV receiver but MB3 doesnt. I tried various files and all AC3 audio is passed fine and shows as Dolby on AV receiver but DTS does not, It shows as PCM on the AV receiver. All the videos I tested with are using the 4.1 profile.

What Roku do you have? Right now according to the released specs, Roku 3 is the only one that supports DTS passthrough. That could easily be a wrong spec and if so I'll need to add in the other models.
