Hi there,

First of all, I am new to emby server and planning to use it for live TV features. Looks like emby server requires a hardware which collects information about the TV stations, (not sure). Here in Nepal I searched for similar hardware but could not find one. I also searched for private m3u playlists but could not find a reliable one. I came across NFPS IPTV service, but it requires IPTV stalker or something like that where i need to provide portal of the server.

My question is: Can i use NFPS server in Emby Live TV or do i need other plugins? If you can put me in right direction it would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Hi, welcome. Does NFPS have an m3u url that can be utilized by other software? At the moment that's the only way you'd be able to use it. thanks.

NFPS and many other private servers (paid servers) provide IPTV portal address, they do not provide m3u playlists. In KODI there is a plugin called IPTV Stalker which can handle such portal address through which Live TV channels are available. I hope in near future emby will have this plugin.Thank you Luke for your quick response.

OK I see yea. We would need to have a community member step up and build a plugin for it. I think that would be fantastic.

They may be pay servers but not necessarily legal.

The use of plugins for DVB sources within Emby was deemed a little to risky as it provides the option of access to illegal pay tv sources despite the fact most on this board would use the plugins to access their own legitimate subscriptions.

I've not checked in on the thread but I assume that hasn't changed, therefore I'd suspect that this should be a no go as well.

Leaving this here for anyone who may stumble across this post. You CAN use the NFPS IPTV service with Emby Live TV, it just requires running Kodi in the background. Once you sign up for service, download and install the PVR Stalker+ Addon from the EPG.Ninja repo (http://epg.ninja). Once the addon is installed, configure it with your NFPS username and password (donation number is used for both), your mac address (generate one http://spartanpixel.net/mac/, then assign it to your IPTV account using http://papiao.tv/main/search_nfps), and your NFPS portal. Then navigate to the far right of the configuration settings (leave all but portal 1 blank) to the m3u tab. Click "enbable" then start server if you don't see the server starting up already. Assuming your credentials are all correct you should be connected. Test by opening the addon and verifying you CAN view video content. At this point minimize Kodi and return to Emby Live TV Settings. Add a new tuner, select m3u playlist. Put http://localhost:8899/channels-1.m3u for the URL. Add a new guide provider (XML Tv), and put https://raw.githubusercontent.com/psyc0n/epgninja/master/guide.xml. As of right now my guide data is slightly off, some of the program names are missing or just wrong.. however the channel line up, channel names, and channel logos all seem to be correct. I will report back to this thread or make a step by step walk through if I am able to make anymore progress.
