vfrjim 1
Running linuxmint 17.3, Mythtv 0.28, Emby server 3.05943.0 and I am having a problem. If I attempt to watch live TV with Emby (Android app) it always chooses the first tuner (Hdhomerun prime) it sees, even though it is in use by Mythtv on a kodi client. I know it should work since I set it up with Serverwmc and it worked fine and both live channels worked fine. Any ideas why it always grabs the first tuner it sees and not the ones that are sitting idle? Jim
Luke 37112
Hi, welcome. What do you mean by in use. Is the tuner actually completely unavailable at that time? What it does is it tests each tuner first to find the one that is available.
vfrjim 1
Yes, the tuner it uses is already in use by another user. So, what happens when this occurs is that the person that is viewing a show gets locked up and they have to stop viewing that show and reconnect to the Mythtv server to select another tuner. Luke 37112
Hi, thanks. we are in fact checking availability, so please provide a server log of that time period: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks. vfrjim 1
Just to post an update, it is a known issue and has been noted on mythtv support here: https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/10043 Looks like MythTV does not lock the tuner it is using so it is not emby's fault. If you want me to post a log to make them play nice together, let me know. Jim
