fibertech 4
I am also unable to play MKV files. The GUI and the animated backdrops work but when I click play in the browser I get "video error, there was an error playing the video". The video keeps playing until I click the "ok" button and then it goes back to the selected video screen. When I try to play the movie in Theater it just spins and nothing happens. I am on Windows 10 and the server is Win Home Server 2011. Edit: It acts like this is a transcoding issue. Is there a way we can completely turn off transcoding? Edit 2: Added a log file fibertech emby serer log.txt Edited April 19, 2016 by fibertech

Logos302 86
I am not understanding what a sample input file is. A small chunk of the mkv file that your trying to play is what he's asking for. So that he can investigate what properties it has.

fibertech 4
Why don't you just start over and please see how to report a media playback issue. Thanks. Nice reply, I stated in the previous post that I solved the issue. I read the "how to report" but this thread was the same issue. Sorry for trying to help figure it out, in which I did and reporting back.
