gardar 16
I use the android app with Chromecast a lot. One feature that's missing is the ability to queue episodes to play next. I've tried to use the playlist feature to achive this but it's not that great for this purpose. While I can quickly add a movie/episode to a playlist I do have to navigate to the playlist menu and choose the playlist and send it to the chromecast. Also the chromecast doesn't seem to update the playlist, so if I add new items to the playlist after I begun playing it those items won't be played. I'm not sure if the inbuilt player in the app or external players on android will take updates from the playlist, but at least it's not happening on chromecast. Would it be possible to add a queue feature? Or/and get playlist updates working on chromecast?
ebr 14913
If you are playing episodes of the same show in order there is an option to do that automatically now.

Luke 37071
the queue buttons must have gotten lost at some point. we'll review for a future release of the app, thanks. in the meantime, you can easily play entire folders such as seasons or series. gardar 16
Hi Luke. Any chance the queue buttons will be back soon? I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the queue buttons each time I update the beta version of the app
gardar 16
I just noticed I can choose queue when casting to upnp devices such as Kodi... But I don't get the option to do so for Chromecast... Are there any limitations with this on Chromecast? gardar 16
The emby Android app now has a 'add to play queue' when connected to Chromecast, but nothing happens. After the playback of the currently playing video the playback just stops. Also the 'play all from here' option does not seem no work on the chromecast. alanfranz 0
Hello, I hope I'm not doing the wrong thing at posting in this very old thread. I'm using Emby for Android to stream things from my local emby media server to my Chromecast. Emby for Android properly finds my chromecast device, and an "Add to play queue" option exists for episodes and movies, and I can click it. But, then, there's nowhere I can see my queue. If I click "Play next", the currently selected episode or movie starts playing. So, I tried the Plex-like approach; I start playing one movie or episode, then I go the another one and choose "Add to play queue". Nothing happens, when the first episode ends, I get the standard "empty" Emby screen. From the web client, the queue appears to work properly! If more data is needed, just ask. Software versions: emby-server 4.0.2.0 on Ubuntu Linux 18.04 Emby for Android 3.0.38 on Moto Z Play (Android Oreo) Chromecast 1st edition Edited March 18, 2019 by alanfranz
