jscoys 143
Ok I would like to install A Chrome cast in my friend's home and giving him access to the iOS app in order to select the movies he wants to launch. At this point everything' fine. But my friend has a low bandwidth (~5 Mbits) and I wonder if he launches an hd movie there Will be an automatic transcoding and an automatic selection of the good quality/resolution made by the Chrome cast depending on the bandwidth or if it Will always play to the maximum resolution (like 1080p at 30 Mbits)? Would like to have the answer before asking him to buy one. Thx.
Luke 37156
The default quality is automatic and will perform bandwidth tests with the server to measure the ideal bitrate, so the answer is yes. both Chromecast and ios-playback support automatic quality, and enable it by default. android playback too.
