Can you give more information? Is /home/user/downloads/completed "emby" user home dir? It's not and you want emby to be able to access this dir?

In any case you may need a combination of chmod and/or chown. You will find plenty of information about this commands in google.

Libary media is stored in /home/Nuk3na/Downloads/ and folders are within this so it needs to be recursive.

I need emby to see the folders within the downloads folder so i can add them to the libary.

The user emby is shown in my users on the machine am i correct in sayin emby has its own user? as there is no users folder for emby in my home dir.

Please let me know.

Never mind done it, far easier using WINSCP for anyone who isnt familiar with linux cmds right click and change the owner to emby and the group to emby and give it the appropriate read/write access
