mellomade 140
One real PIA of any computer based DVR is making sure that the system time is precise. Padding helps - but esp on Windows system clocks drift and require a non-linear amount of adjustment. Is there any way that the timing in the schedule for the Guide and EmbyTV could be adjusted relative to system clock time? For example if Emby could ping NIST and their time is 12:00:00 and your system clock is 12:00:36 - Emby could adjust the timers by 36s? Mostly this would be helpful for starting/stopping recordings on time to limit padding requirements. Edited December 4, 2015 by mellomade
brett_1968 1
there are a few options: 1/ If you are talking about FTA transmissions then there is a possibility that the station is transmitting a time signal with the broadcast and you can use this to correct the time, if your DVR program allows it. 2/ Sync the computer to a NTP server. 3/ add a GPS module to the computer and use that to correct the time. there are more but they increase in complexity
