pcgirl 4
OK, I had kodi running on mysql with my Unraid server. I decided to update everything. Updated my unraid server to the latest version 6.1 and also updated, so far my one device (which is an android box) to the latest kodi isengard. I installed emby server as a docker on my unraid and then I installed the emby plugin on kodi. However, when I went to play something on the android box it just wouldn't play. Do I need to set the sources in kodi or does kodi pick them up from the emby plugin and the emby server? I tried running an update on kodi because it didn't have all the latest downloads showing and it seemed to stall with a message at the top saying updating using local information, but it stayed at 0%. I feel that I am missing something. I want to get this setup right before I implement it on the rest of my devices.
Angelblue05 4130
http://kodi.wiki/view/Emby Youtube video in first post: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=229038&highlight=emby+liv You need to set up your emby server first. Then in your emby server, you will add your library. Then once your library is set up the way you want, you'll start fresh with Kodi. Install the add-on, and then let it sync your content from your emby server to Kodi. There is nothing to do in Kodi other than setting up your skin interface. pcgirl 4
OK, I did that exactly the way you have said. So what is going on with my kodi on my android box? All the latest downloads weren't showing so I did an Library update in kodi and that is when it didn't seem to do anything and then I couldn't play anything. pcgirl 4
When I pull up the webgui I can see the current downloads but not in kodi.
Angelblue05 4130
Can you post your Kodi log capturing your issue? It's hard to say. You are saying your emby content doesn't show up in Kodi, correct? A log would tell us where it went wrong.

Just let the addon handle all that... If you want to manually update use the manual sync option in the emby for kodi addon Edited October 2, 2015 by Vidman
pcgirl 4
OK, I will try that.
pcgirl 4
I don't see a manual sync option in the emby for kodi plugin.
Vidman 589
You need to launch the addon rather than configure the settings for it . when launched there is the option to "Perform manual sync" Edited October 2, 2015 by Vidman
pcgirl 4
I am not having any luck here. I really would like to get this working. Can someone look at my log file and see if they can see what is wrong? http://pastebin.com/BvD8BGHc When I click on anything it just doesn't open. Sometimes it will flash "Opening stream" but then nothing happens and then most times nothing happens when I click on a movie or tv show. I couldn't get xbmc log uploader to upload any of the logs so I had to use pastebin. I am using Emby Server Version 3.0.5724.6 and Emby kodi plugin 1.1.39 and Kodi 15.2 Edited October 2, 2015 by pcgirl
xnappo 1593
Looks like something with your path substitution - look for this line: NOTICE: DVDPlayer: Opening: /TV/Survivor/Season 31/Survivor.S31E02.mkv That path is almost certainly not right, but I don't know what it needs to be for your network. Look into Path substitution on the server.
pcgirl 4
I didn't set anything for path substitution. I just set up the paths in Emby. First I set the path in the Emby Docker /TV=/mnt/user/TV Shows then when I set up the path in Emby I just use /TV. Why does it say DVDPlayer? im85288 1493
Don't worry about why it says DVDPlayer that is not significant. As @@xnappo states your paths are not correct. If you can set up your server to use UNC paths. If that is not possible use path substitution (this option is available on the emby server). If you just want things to play as they are now select "play from stream" in the emby addon settings.
pcgirl 4
If I use Path Substitution do I also setup the Media folders in the Library on the EmbyServer?
