Sergio 4
I'm doing a new installation but for some reason the server doesn't come up at machine start. I've tried so far taking ownership (emby) of all program folders and ensured the init.d script has exec flag. Also tried to install the script with [update-rc.d emby-server defaults] with no success. The ubuntu installed it's the new 15.04 version. Could that be the problem? Note: If I issue [sudo service emby-server start] after booting up, the server comes up without a problem. Gazza 0
I'm having the similar issue with a virtual setup of Debian 8.
Solution thefirstofthe300 291 Posted September 27, 2015 Solution Share Posted September 27, 2015 Ubuntu 15.04 has migrated the init system to systemd while maintaining compatibility with running Upstart scripts. Try systemctl enable emby-server and reboot. If that doesn't work, something is wrong. Same thing goes for Debian 8 and SysV init.
Sergio 4
Thanks thefirstofthe300, that made it work. I heard about the init system change, but assumed that the old system was still operative, as it accepted commands and didn't show any error. thefirstofthe300 291
The old init system is sort of still intact. I am just not sure what works and what doesn't. I can almost guarantee you that everything will work with systemd though.
