digitaldiatribe 0
Hi, I seem to have trouble with an anime series. The subs don't appear in the transcoded video when played on my Roku 2 (4210). The following is the transcode log I pulled from my media server showing the problem toward the bottom. Anyone hit this before? jhoff80 87
Any updates on this? A week or two ago I was seeing the same issue with subtitles, but it looks like the Roku app hasn't been updated in a while.
Happy2Play 8296
Any updates on this? A week or two ago I was seeing the same issue with subtitles, but it looks like the Roku app hasn't been updated in a while. Helps to list the version your using 2.09 or 2.12? jhoff80 87
I was afraid that question might come up; unfortunately right now I don't have access to that specific Roku to check. It was on the non-beta channel, so I guess 2.09. I just checked on the Roku that I do have on hand though, which is running the beta 2.12, and subtitles appear broken there as well. speechles 1920
The app only can support what the roku does. SRT only. So in transcoding, the duty falls to the server. I believe the server needs to on-the-fly change ssa into srt to have them available as soft-subs/captions, but likely it needs to burn these in with the video since its transcoding anyways. This would depend more on updating your server version, than knowing your roku application version at this point. digitaldiatribe 0
Noticed Server Version 3.0.5724.4 was out. I updated it and subs are working. Thanks for the fix!
