TwistedThaGod 2
I just went to do a install on my newly imaged surface and both stable and beta are marked incompatible with 15.0 stable. Any idea why?
jluce50 118
Yep, I just reinstalled Kodi to deal with some other issues and when I reinstalled the beta repo I found that I can't install the Emby addon. Wth?!

badaas 139
I think the repos are a bit fubar atm. Have you tried the github, think this is latest isengard version: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Kodi/tree/335035d6f28ddf7396e1067b9f490b65865f08b0 Or find a version here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Kodi/commits/master Disable auto updates too. Angelblue05 4130
We will look into it. Something odd is definitively going on with the repos. Only thing we did was update the image for the stable repo, nothing else was modified.
jluce50 118
I'm not sure what's going on, but I can't install anything from any repo. When I try to install from the Kodi repo it's trying to use the mirror for Gotham. Perhaps the issue is on my end? This is a clean install, so I don't know what happened... jani 4
I just updated my server to Win10 too and Kodi on Raspberry Pi to 15.0. Now, when doing full sync, Kodi just hungs and finally dies after being hung for 5 minutes. I've attached log tails from both, Kodi and Emby server. EDIT: this appeared at the end of the emby server log after posting the attachments, don't know if related: 2015-08-03 09:39:07.2115 Error - HttpServer: Error in SharpWebSocket: An exception has occurred while receiving a message.. I have some issues with Kodi 15.0 installation - it can not access internet on my Windows 8.1 computer. I tried on my Mac - installed Kodi 15.0, Emby repo and the add-on without any issues.. jani 4
My problem was caused by the "auto add images to the Kodi texture cache" feature. Unticking it, initial sync finishes correctly. I wonder if this is a memory limitation or something, because as said I'm running Kodi on Raspberry Pi 2. EDIT: I also noticed you're better to use an IP address instead of a hostname with Kodi. I tried to do a clean install and it took me a while to find out why the sync wasn't starting properly. I got malformed url exceptions with a hostname. Angelblue05 4130
Hostname is a windows thing. Very easily not supported. So always use the ip. It will never fail accross platform. You can also use a ddns address to connect for external access. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jani 4
Wait, I thought it was a DNS thing? Angelblue05 4130
Just to give you an example, if you tried to reach your server with your hostname on an iphone, or mac, it will not work. That's why the internal ip is preferred to locate your server. Hostname will work on windows. But other platforms might not always support it. Anyway, the address field in settings is asking for either the ip address or ddns (my.domain.com) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited August 11, 2015 by Angelblue05

jani 4
Just to give you an example, if you tried to reach your server with your hostname on an iphone, or mac, it will not work. I don't want to sound argumentative, but I disagree. I can't verify that claim since I don't have any Apple products. But reaching the server via the hostname works from my Linux box and my Android phone, because the router is running a DNS server and the Emby server is registered as liquorice.lan (that .lan part is optional) on that DNS server. I'd assume Apple products support standard DNS queries (which are the same thing as ddns). As you can see in the above example, the DNS reply comes from 192.168.1.1, which is the router running the DNS server. (;; SERVER: 192.168.1.1#53(192.168.1.1)). Also, the router is running Linux. I guess I should re-test using the hostname now that I've managed to setup the library correctly and no other variables are causing any problems. EDIT: oh and the very same DNS server replies if I ask for www.google.com jani@raspberry ~ ❯❯❯ dig www.google.com ; <<>> DiG 9.10.2-P3 <<>> www.google.com ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 25235 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 6, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 1 ;; OPT PSEUDOSECTION: ; EDNS: version: 0, flags:; udp: 4096 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;www.google.com. Logos302 86
Hostname is a DNS function has nothing to do with OS per say. Any device that uses a web browser will have a DNS client that talks to a DNS server to find the host name and translate it to IP. Defiantly not a Windows thing. unfortunately if your DNS server doesn't have the right information it will fail to find what you think it should. Which might be a case for using the IP, it also in theory could speed the initial connection up (Talking fractions of a second here) when your arp cache is not built. Also if you have your DNS client pointed at Google or some external DNS server it will not resolve your internal network. hehe Unless published but that's a whole nothing ball of wax .
