bmlocal175 1
My PC's hard drive is filling up and was thinking of getting an external hard drive. Will WMC still work if I move all my movies to an external drive? What is the best way of doing this and what kind of drive should I be looking at? Newalpost 5
I added a 2TB external USB drive to my PC and found that none of the video players I have would play ripped DVDs in Video_TS format. I've had to convert all of my DVDs to MKV format which works just fine. It seems to be a Windows problem and not strictly related to Mediabrowser. Sorahl 1
I can certainly confirm that external drives will work. I have 30TB in drives directly connected via USB 3.0 and another 10 TBs on two other pcs on my network . these have ripped DVD's that are watched via my WMC. it works very well... as far as what to use.. its dictated, for me, by budget and TWF (the wife factor). I use mediahome usb enclosures (4 drive bays with up to 4tb drive support). I use WD drives exclusively, again price dictates so the Green drives are common on my network (but not all). no issues... john Edited July 30, 2015 by Sorahl
