Gernash 19
What profile is used for windows 8.1 to assign a Friendly server Name? I have tried a few profiles and can see different names on Amplifier and android but not windows machines.
Happy2Play 8296
Where exactly are you referring to?
Gernash 19
in explorer under Network -> Media devices you should see your DLNA Friendly Name it is also reflected in This PC -> Network locations also if you open Windows media player it will appear below the other libraries Basically any where that can see DLNA devices. I assume that is what you meant. If I change the default profile in the server to FluffyKitten then android devices show Fluffykitten but windows devices display Emby. Happy2Play 8296
Unfortunately the default profile from what I have seen is has to be modified to recognize the device. So modifying the friendly name and it becoming a custom profile it never gets used in my experience. From the network view I don't know how that works since you can right click and rename to whatever you like, but in do know what you mean. I'll test this a little more today.
