JeremyFr79 228
Ok, so in my media center machine I originally had a single Ceton Infinitv4 tuner card, and everything worked beautifully with ServerWMC, my channel icon's loaded into emby great, channels worked fine, guide refreshed quickly etc. Tonight I added a 2nd Infinitv4, this one a USB model to have an additional 4 tuners as I'm sharing my emby server with some family that has become "cord cutters" and that's where my issues began. now I had some issues with recognizing both tuners etc but that was unrelated and fixed now. WMC successfully see's/uses/shows 8 tuners. ServerWMC show's 8 tuners, however I couldn't get anything to play back though, I tried quite a few things even resorting to what I thought was wiping every ounce of serverwmc off my machine I could find and reinstalling. I ended up fixing this issue by unchecking the "enable http host service" checkbox and then re-checking it. However I seem to still be having 2 big issues. Guide refresh on my emby server is now taking roughly 15-20 minutes, it takes about 10 seconds to reach 9% takes 15 minutes or so to get to 15% and then another 30 seconds to reach 100% and be done. I've removed ServerWMC plugin and reinstalled it, still takes forever to refresh the guide. Like I said with just the 1 tuner card refresh was fast like 45 seconds total fast. So the other issue I'm having is that ServerWMC is obviosly still seeing the channel logos from MCL as I can see the files in the temp directory that ServerWMC uses. But Emby is not pulling them accross now. Hoping someone may have some ideas on this. I'm at the point I'm really tempted to completely wipe my media center machine and redo everything from scratch. JeremyFr79 228
Ok, so I got it figured out, after looking at the Emby Server Log I saw a bunch of errors where it was trying to open the channel logo images via port 9180, I disabled "enable http host service" and restarted Emby server and BAM, fast refresh and channel logos showed up. What I'm trying to figure out was these settings were the same before and all worked fine, not sure why after adding a 2nd tuner unit all this went haywire on me. hmmmmmmmmm
krustyreturns 191
When you enable the http service (and if you set emby to use the http service) the channel icons and streams are done using http. The guide data is loaded using a socket connection either way, so http shouldn't make any difference on the refresh time. The slow load times are likely due to the errors you were getting when using http. Can you post one of the errors? And yeah, the addition of another tuner device can't make a difference to any of this. Unless the tuner is pulling from a different source. Yeah I was getting a bunch of http errors that it couldn't connect and download the channel logos, like I said after flipping the http settings this resolved and works either way again, I didn't see anything that jumped out at me in the logs. I have a feeling it wasn't a problem with ServerWMC as much as it was with me and my tuners. BTW yes they're pulling from the same source, The tuners themselves gave me some issue when i added the second one I ended up having to remove everything and redo drivers redo tv setup in WMC etc so it probably all just compounded in the end. Thanks for the response though, if I run into any other issues I'll let you know but it's fixed for now.
