Tolotos 61
Hi, Is there a standalone client like OpenElec for Kodi available for Emby or is there an interest of such a piece of software? Yours Tolotos

Tolotos 61
Hi @@Luke, so I found two possible main solutions: Basis of both solutions: branch of OpenElec with Kodi removed. ==> Fast boot into the client Using the HTML5 interface of Emby by starting a browser in kiosk only mode Problems: - Needs client configuration page at startup - Needs client shutdown in the web page ==> I think that's not a good option Writing an own client like Theater for Linux and replace Kodi with it in an OpenElec branch - Theater code (C# ?) must be converted to C++ on linux Are there further solutions possible and/or are my above assumptions correct? - Tolotos
Luke 37191
well what form factor are you targeting? i think html5 as a technology is a great choice for a cross-platform app and i hope to be able to build a tv-based app for it. but i don't think the current web client is a great choice for you because it is not designed for the tv form factor.
