Heckler 147
Is there a way to change the order that MB3 server grabs the meta data from thetvdb? For Firefly, the DVD order is the correct one to list/view the shows... but it's grabbing them in the air date order... and as we all know FOX screwed up the air dates and moved episodes around in their stupid ass about face idiocy. Is there a way to force it to use DVD order?

sprtfan 3
yea i think capturing this information is a good idea I came here to ask the same question. I'm not 100% sure that I understand the answer though. Does this mean that choosing between Air and DVD is not available right now but it would be a good idea and could be something that could be available in the future? I'm having problems with several cartoons that I recorded. They aired as one episode but contained two different story lines. theTVDB seperates them into separate 15 mins shows instead of one 3o min episode as it was aired. I read on their forum that selecting DVD order instead of aired order would fix the problem for me. The other option is to split all of the shows in two but that would take forever with the number of shows I would have to do. Thanks
Luke 37097
Yes that's correct
sprtfan 3
Thanks, I think in the mean time I'll just use the episode number for the first show in each of my combined episodes. Renaming will be a lot easier than splitting.
Heckler 147
Is there any further update on this Luke? I noticed that there is now the option to specify in the metadata what the DVD episode and absolute episode are... But it still doesn't organise them correctly when you view them within MB client. Cheers
Luke 37097
It organizes them correctly because the only option is air date. at some point dvd and absolute will be selectable sort orders.
Heckler 147
OK, look forward to that being implemented.

strager 18
It organizes them correctly because the only option is air date. at some point dvd and absolute will be selectable sort orders. At some point? Does that mean at some point in the near future, at some point 10 years from now? at some point later this afternoon? A little more details would be helpful - if this is being implemented soon, I have numerous series I don't have to manually reorder to get the proper data for.... Heckler 147
Guys, this thread was started around 18 months ago... It's not exactly a priority for the devs right now.
