Skkittlebomb 2
I am curious what programs some of you may have good reviews about. I have a horde of mp3 & 4s that I was hoping to plug into a good program to auto fill in (even possibly fix incorrect info) the Metadata for me. I'm only really concerned with the Media Properties for each track. This way MB can display the proper covers, and I can also search by Genre or Year. A friend (whom I recently converted over to MB! YAY!) suggested Media Monkey... but before I dive in I thought I would see what some of you suggest. *Note* I do not want to 'manage' my media, MB does that just fine *wink* Thanks guys =) Edited March 5, 2015 by Skkittlebomb
skidmarks 188
A slower process than it sounds like you are looking for, but mp3tag is what I use. Being kind of a audio file, and having OCD when it comes to metadata, it does everything that I will ever need. Entire albums can be done within seconds. Its not automatic. You have to tell it what top do. Kind of simple , tell it to go out to get metadata (via one of 3 different options I think) and it matches your search. Click ok and the entire album has the correct meta and cover! I got burned years ago with an automatic version (forget what it was called) as it just started renaming songs and albums out of the blue. Now that was a mess to figure out. Think I ended up deleting a lot of my collection and starting over. Like I said not as automatic as you may be looking for, but to me it is the BEST meta program for my music needs (and bonus its free)! Bonus number two... if you load music into the program and go to change the metadata, if the music is locked it will remove the lock! If you download from iTunes for example. thefirstofthe300 291
Another vote for Picard. Best handling of multiple artists out of the bunch. Mp3Tag is pretty decent at it too.
saitoh183 137
If its windows TagScanner is my go to. You can preview Renaming and metadata changes before applying them Easy manual metadata modification Bulk processing (auto and manual) Renaming pattern (create your own) + auto move after renaming (if you want) Lots of sources to pull metadata from
