Jooced 6
Just about every time the screen saver (the one that flips through posters with the name of the show/movie) comes up my system becomes unresponsive. The posters change and all but my remote is useless and I can't exit. Is there a way to disable the screen saver all together?
CBers 6771
Which client, MBC? If so, go into the MBC configuration, within WMC, and turn screensaver off.
Jooced 6
No MBT Looking at the logs, maybe screensaver is the wrong word. I see this in the logs (which is crazy considering it changes every 10 seconds) 2013-11-05 16:27:03.0436, Info, App, Setting backdtop to http://192.168.3.5:8096/mediabrowser/Items/543b83a0eace3047f5c12005dbc18bc6/Images/Backdrop/4?Width=1920&Quality=100&Tag=22d30314-f76f-cdc6-d4c7-cb605b62d758&EnableImageEnhancers=True 2013-11-05 16:27:13.0444, Info, App, Setting backdtop to http://192.168.3.5:8096/mediabrowser/Items/543b83a0eace3047f5c12005dbc18bc6/Images/Backdrop/5?Width=1920&Quality=100&Tag=e359645a-39c3-2850-a9ed-c6961aa4e953&EnableImageEnhancers=True 2013-11-05 16:27:23.0718, Info, App, Setting backdtop to http://192.168.3.5:8096/mediabrowser/Items/543b83a0eace3047f5c12005dbc18bc6/Images/Backdrop/6?Width=1920&Quality=100&Tag=c30c1e4c-e3a3-23b8-88de-bb2c74d01671&EnableImageEnhancers=True So maybe it's the "Enable Backdrops" that is full screen and resulting in the unresponsiveness? Jooced 6
Thanks for the reply, Luke. Just to make sure the issue was clear - this wasn't a slow down. It's complete unresponsiveness. The actual transition animation still works and looks nice (no slow down) but I can't get out of it as my remote has become useless. I should keep a keyboard and mouse hooked up to see if they're able to get me unstuck. I'll hopefully try that tonight.
Luke 37083
you can't right now, but in all likelihood it's the backdrop transition animation that is causing the slowdown and not the backdrop downloading. i will eventually have settings to disable all animations. and probably some screen saver configuration too. whitman27 1
Was this ever added to settings? Last night I was watching a movie and at the 45 min mark the screen went Black and I couldn't do anything. I had to restart the computer and I opted to watch the movie thru an external player instead of in MBT. My thought is the computer thought I was inactive and possible tried to go to sleep? But all the sleep settings are off on this computer so thats what I find reather odd.Cheers Whit
The Baron 64
I have a similar issue with MBT, on occasion it seems like MBT is no longer the active application as far as the system is concerned, even though it is maximised. I resolve the issue by having one of the buttons on the remote set to open MBT. When MBT is not in focus, as it were, pressing this button normally allows you to use the remote with MBT.
