thefirstofthe300 291
So I have slowly been moving over some pictures into the MB server and have been using an SFTP connection to do it (to lazy to setup an nfs or smb share). Due to server permissions, I have been using the root user. The server then fires a cron task that changes all of the permissions on the media folder so that the MB server owns them. Also, my LAN connection to my server is really only capable of about 12 MB/s transfer speed (stupid 100 meg ethernet laptop card) so the file transfers take a bit of time. That transfer time is long enough that I often have the server fire a media library scan which proceeds to hang. It never finishes and I can't stop the scan manually. The cancel job also hangs. I don't want to enable real time monitoring because the monitoring doesn't seem to like my btrfs filesystem and causes the library to be updated every two seconds. I have attached the server log. log.txt
thefirstofthe300 291
I just updated to the latest release (40000) and I am still having this issue. There are a ton of errors in the log. From what I can tell, the initial scan never completed. I seem to be stuck around 72%? Is there a problem with the images themselves or is the problem with the server? I am attaching the current log for the hung scan. log.txt
thefirstofthe300 291
I let the scan run all night and it is still hung. It doesn't seem to have logged anything scan related in over eight hours. This is really driving me batty.
thefirstofthe300 291
It would appear that the problem fixed itself. Somehow, the scan completed and everything is working again. I am attaching the last five log files so that you can peruse them to see what took the scan so freaking long to complete. logs.zip Edited December 19, 2014 by DaBungalow
thefirstofthe300 291
One thing that I gave noticed that might be related to my issue with excessively long library scans is that the album cover photos are scaled down for some reason. However, not all of them are. I don't know what makes some albums different in the image sizes. Also these screenshots are of my Nexus 7 but the album cover image problem exists in all clients.
