simpsons11 2
I am converting all my Blu-Rays to MP4 using handbrake. When I try playing them in MB classic, they start then close back to the play screen. I just installed LAV's using this guide, http://www.thehtpc.net/htpc-tips-and-tweaks/media-center-lav-filters-and-external-subtitles/ everything plays fine except the MP4 files I've converted using Handbrake. All my other files are movies I owned the I downloaded on the internet. Any suggestions? simpsons11 2
Updated: I got video working, I just installed haali splitter that has just always worked for me. The problem now is Audio. I can't get audio to work on any Mp4 (ones I've ripped or ones other people have ripped). LAV Audio doesn't pop up when playing the video making me think it isn't detecting the audio in the file. aziz 10
Hi simpsons11... I am not an authority on Codecs, but you seem to have a codecs issue. to be honest, I don't understand it all, but my rig, which is Win 7 WMC and MB Classic (I have been using it from the first few days, when it was just mediabrowser and I love it ), and never had an issue with playing any file format.. I use codec package released by Shark007, which is all the codecs you need to play any file, but more importantly, they get installed and configured so you can play any file format. You can get those codecs anywhere, but the real trick is to configure them so they don't collide with one another, and you also want to ensure Microsoft codecs don't stop you playing what you want to play. wish you luck

Why I've always stayed with MKV... They just have always worked for me.
Solution simpsons11 2 Posted December 14, 2014 Author Solution Share Posted December 14, 2014 Well out of ideas, I tried installing shark. I'm not 100% sure but don't think it is what fixed it but the option. Once I disabled Media Foundation in shark, everything worked. I never tried this with the Win7DSfilter software.
