Macburp 109
Helllo. I've been off net for the last week as phoneline and broadband were u/s. In that time I've noticed that cover art was not working as it should. At first I saw that some episodes were not showing art. Now I'm back online I've added two new series, neither of these have any art at all (at season and episode level). Checked the server and was informed that I was an unregistered user of CoverArt, based on advice from this forum I restarted the server and so now I'm a registered user again. But MBC won't reload the Coverart. While existing programmes before I went offnet are mostly ok, new series have no art at all. I tried moving the new content out of the library, rescanning the server and then putting the content back and scanning again. Didn't work. Any thoughts on how to fix? ebr 14913
You said "no art at all" which leads me to believe this isn't related to CoverArt the plug-in and, instead, is related to your ability to download artwork from the internet. Probably need some screen shots and a server log when you refresh one of these items.
Macburp 109
An example of no art at all is this series (the Day of the Triffids) which was added after I was back online: there is also no coverart at the episode level - While I was offline I started to notice that coverart was missing at the episode level. For example you can see from this image that 'Seachange' has its series art complete with coverart: But at the episode level there's no coverart: I also checked the webclient and noticed that an empty folder (Bluestone 42 in the image below) also has no coverart, suggesting this is a server issue rather than an MBC issue: The Bluestone 42 folder has been there for a log time, and previously showed coverart. A server log is attached. Ideas to resolve would be gratefully received. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22367822/server-63552743104.txt Edited November 28, 2014 by Macburp
ebr 14913
Unfortunately, that is not a complete server log (contains no start up) and doesn't contain any activity by CoverArt at all. But, it sounds like your supporter registration is either not valid or not working right. That is what would have happened if you were disconnected for more than a few days. Macburp 109
Well, I've checked the plug-ins page and it says I'm registered. Just upgraded to server 3.0.5445.5, so restarted the server, loaded MBC and tried a couple of Ctrl-R's. The content already mentioned here still has no cover art. Log for this is below. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22367822/server-63552848466.txt However, I have noticed that more recent content added (within the last few hours) is showing coverart. What to do to fix?
Solution ebr 14913 Posted November 29, 2014 Solution Share Posted November 29, 2014 CA appears to be working fine in that log but, unfortunately, ctl-R will not cause the images to re-process unless something about them has changed. If the last time they were processed, CA was unregistered, then that should cause them to re-generate though. We really need a way to force an image to re-process for these types of edge cases that I just can't figure out why it won't do it properly. I requested that a long time ago and Luke agreed to do it but I'm not sure it got done or, if it did, exactly how. Try a refresh all data and images from the metadata editor and see if that does anything.
Macburp 109
Well, this seems to have worked. For the record I did this - - Select affected series in metadata manager (Day of the Triffids) - Click Advanced Refresh - Select 'Refresh All Data' for metadata - Select 'Replace Existing Images' for images - Click OK - Click Refresh - Launch MBC. Coverart has returned. Yaay! Thanks Eric
ebr 14913
Okay, it was the replace images that did the trick. Since they re-downloaded they were changed and CA re-ran. Glad you got it worked out.
