KarterJK 35
I have a server setup, but how do I add users and let them connect via the web. No offense, but your tutorials seem like they stop after the server is setup, and nothing else is explained, where do I go from there? This can't be that hard to do. filecore 6
This can't be that hard to do. If you lack the ability to do it, then you also lack the authority to make such statements. Please don't condescend to the developers who put their own time into this and make this available to us for free. Now, to answer your question, it's called Media Browser Connect. Ask your users to go to http://app.mediabrowser.tv/ and sign up. Once they've done that, create an account for them on your server (under the obscurely-named Users option in the control panel). Get the username or email they used to register, and put it into the field named Media Browser username/email to connect your server to their MB account. Then they can go to the link and can access your server from there. There's even a tutorial specifically about how to do it right here at Introducing Media Browser Connect. In all honesty, there are a ton of good tutorials, including this one about setup and configuration, this one about using the web client, and plenty of others. Thank you Mr. Einstein it is nice to know it is on a blog somewhere and not in the tutorial, how the hell is one to know and I have done all of that and it just keeps coming back with an error, though it can be accessed via an app. You are right if I am to stupid to follow their non-instructions, than I don't deserve to try and understand it or use it, which I guess I won't be able too. KarterJK 35
we hope to improve our tutorials soon. thanks for the feedback. Well, thank you for the response. I just didn't know where to actually find the information. The problem was resolved, the user had used a mis-spelled email address, so he never actually got signed in. Hence for the returned error when trying to add him. Once he corrected it, it all went well.Troubleshooting can be frustrating.
Vidman 589
Can I suggest next time you find alternative ways to vent your frustration, there is constructive criticism, and then there is just being rude
