In fact, in this version, even if I enable "Allow subtitle extraction on the fly", the ASS subtitles appear in the right place. Maybe there needs to be an option to enable legacy mode? pwhodges 1532 Posted February 21 Share Posted February 21 A key feature of ASS subs is the precision with which they can be positioned on the screen - especially, but not solely, when applied to signs and other on-screen items. It is no business of the player to change that. The video controls are normally only present if the user is doing something other than watching with full attention, so the overlay causes no problem in practice. Since the video controls are semi-transparent at about the subtitle position, I can still recognize the subtitles even when they are obscured. But the new subtitle push-up feature feels like it's shrinking the canvas where the ASS subtitles are located. This makes the font size of the subtitles smaller as well, making them more difficult to read. Is there an option to disable this feature in the current version?
