DiscoDuck79 47
Android TV: 2.0.83g Server: 4.7.11.0 TV: HDR capable (not DoVi) If I try to play a file that contains both DoVi and HDR and the audio track is DD+ I get the "Too many errors. Giving up" message and the playback doesn't start, on the server side I can see in the logs that it wants to transcode for some reason. However, in other configuration mixes it works as it should. DoVi + HDR + EAC3 5.1 = Doesn't work DoVi + HDR + TrueHD/DTS/DD5.1 etc = Works HDR + EAC3 5.1 = Works Is this a known issue or am I just out of luck? embyserver.txt
Solution GrimReaper 3309 Posted January 31, 2023 Solution Share Posted January 31, 2023 As the first step, either update to latest AndroidTV beta app: Or sideload standard Android app and see how does that compare: https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html

Please read the help text under these options that you disabled: EnableVideoPlaybackTranscoding: False EnableAudioPlaybackTranscoding: False Yes, transcoding is intentionally disabled since my server doesn't have a card with HW support for H265. Since I can playback a file with DoVi + HDR + TrueHD/DTS/DD5.1 and another that has HDR + EAC3 5.1 and those combination works I'm a bit confused to why just DoVi + HDR + EAC3 5.1 doesn't. The same file works using Kodi with emby-for-kodi.

Now everything is working as it should. 1
