aarbee 0
hello, I have an emby server (Version 4.7.11.0) based on an AMD 3700x, 64 GB memory, in Windows 10. Created a mirror on 2 10TB disks. And the latest time (haven't used Emby for some time), I notice 2 things to happen. For a test I did install Jellyfin. Suddenly no sound at some movies. (they play well under Jellyfin) 1080p H264 English AAC 5.1 (Default) No compatible streams (No issues under Jellyfin) I have checked under Network, but I have set no limitions on Internet. The movies are being played on a local Network via the browser. Thanks ahead, RobB Edited January 29, 2023 by aarbee
Luke 37096
Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
aarbee 0
Luke, I did see a whole bunch of logfiles, but I do not know, which to pick. Though I did pick the latest. Hope that is ok. embyserver.txt
Luke 37096
Hi, how about the one from when the problem was experienced?
aarbee 0
Luke, That should be in there. Because I ran the one with this issue: No compatible streams a second before I copied the logfile. I saw also mmfpeg files, did you want these? But I did run the 2 files, from which I know that have these issues again and copied all the logfiles from the same timestamp. Thanks again. ffmpeg-directstream-fbe88bb0-ae05-40c2-bffe-2b0c6cc4ee42_1.zip
Happy2Play 8296
But that is expected behavior when you disable these options. Enable Playback Remuxing: True Enable Video Playback Transcoding: False Enable Audio Playback Transcoding: False But to my knowledge browser does not support h262/mpeg2video codec. Audio/Video (chromium.org) Pretty sure this still applies. On 7/7/2021 at 10:29 PM, Luke said: As of today there is no browser that supports the mpegts container or the mpeg2 video codec, so that is why the browser would need transcoding.
aarbee 0
I understand. I had transcoding switched transcoding of for my user, due to the fact that it is running on a LAN only. I have put that back and now I am plagued with choppy replay. that was the reason I did switch off transcoding. The 3700X is tough enough, I would expect, and I do not even see the CPU go up, while transcoding, so I wonder where the choppiness is coming from. Choppy = Read for couple of seconds, then play a few seconds then 2 seconds read something, then play 1 second etc. Next to that I still have the "No compatible streams" issue. I do not understand it. Thansk for your help so far. RobB
GrimReaper 3308
Could you share a screenshot of your Settings>Transcoding>"Enable hardware accelleration when available" field>Advanced? Edit: Also, post ffmpeg log for that 'choppy' playback. Edited January 30, 2023 by GrimReaper Append
aarbee 0
The chopping up is gone, after I rebooted the computer. But I still have the "No compatible streams". You where asking for screenshots? I have added them. Thanks ahead again.
Luke 37096
Can we please see a new server and ffmpeg log example? Thanks.
